Go figure, if it isn't the routing at RPI breaking, it's the dorm switches.  Apparently my wall jack doesn't work, as well as a couple other people's I know in my building.  I'm double-hubbed now, so speed might suck.

Something like: tacolinux <-switch-> firewall <-hub-> <-hub-> other wall jack

Hopefully the peeps at the VCC will fix this quickly.

Hrm, it appears this survivor graduated from RPI.

Sorry for the downtime.  Tacolinux was quite fussy about the RAM I was trying to install.  Apparently the RDRAM slots in my A-Bit motherboard (KG7-RAID) are touchy.  Took me about four dozen tries to get both pieces of RAM to be recognized correctly.

I finally took the time to put my Spring 2003 schedule online.  My Wednesday sucks, but of course that's expected for my major...

Well, here's your wacky error of the day.  Next time I'll avoid adjusting the LCD brightness when the kernel is uncompressing.

I'm amazed at the amount of snow that's here in Troy.  Walkways are literally trenches 2+feet deep.  Maybe I'll take some photos tomorrow, and post them here.  Really, it's quite a sight.

I've been trying out Gentoo Linux lately.  Unfortunately I screwed up the install twice so far (stupid s/hdX/sdX/ typos), and am now waiting for it to bootstrap for the 3rd time.  Eventually, I'll announce my likes/dislikes for the distribution.
