I tried a different lap configuration last night at the Y, last night:

  1. 2x 400 meter freestyle
  2. 1x 50 meter butterfly / freestyle
  3. 1x 200 meter freestyle
  4. 1x 50 meter butterfly / freestyle
  5. 1x 200 meter freestyle

It's 50 meters more than I usually do, which isn't going to help, but the butterfly gets the blood pumping a little more than normal.  I remember when I used to be able to do the 100 meter butterfly without breaking a sweat.  Yeah, those days are over.  The below is my normal workout:

  1. 3x 400 meter freestyle
  2. 1x 50 meter freestyle

Both configurations usually take me around 30-35 minutes.
