How do you disable it in Ubuntu Edgy?  Well, the only way seems to be renaming or deleting agpgart.ko.  /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist does not work.

Anyone have a better idea?

Update: Yes.  Apparently the /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist only works if the module being loaded is not a dependency.  So, for this instance, intel-agp was loading agpgart.  Putting agpgart in the blacklist didn't work, but adding intel-agp did.
