So, I broke down recently and picked up a portable audio player.  I ended up going with an iAudio X5.  Plays all the audio formats I care about, mp3, ogg, flac, has a radio and voice recording, plus 20GiB of storage.  Also plays XviD movies, which I find a little strange, but nifty.  I can't say I've watched anything on it yet, though.  Audio quality is quite good, I just wish the UI was a little better.  Now I can listen to tunes when taking brisk walks around the neighborhood and down the road.

Finally did some upgrades on my laptop today.  Upgraded to linux-2.6.12-gentoo-r9 without any problems.  Also finally upgraded the Cisco VPN client software, and now it doesn't disconnect me after 30 seconds.  Horray.

I finally heard back from Hurricane Electric about /48 IPv6 allocations:

Currently, the tunnel broker only assigns /64s. The functionality to
assign more /64s and/or a /48 will be in the next version, although I
don't have a timeframe for when that will be released.

In the meantime, you are more than welcome to get another tunnel and
another /64. It will require that you create another account however.

Regards,
Mike

Oh well.  Pssst Road Runner ... feel free to carve out a /48 from your /32.  I'd pay for it.  Well, not too much.

Had a nice steak for dinner this evening.  It was good.  Maybe I should be cooking more often ...
