Peer-to-peer Networks Research

Note: This project is stalled indefinitely, partically because I didn't have enough time to work on it, the Celery search engine was taken down, and ... I graduated.

I'm currently working with Professor Biplab Sikdar to analyze certain P2P (peer-to-peer) network models and enhance efficiency on campus residential networks.  Currently, the project involves using Rensselaer's resnet as a test net to determine the optimial interval to refresh the databases of any campus search engines (Celery and Phynd).

The project will eventually produce a topological network graph of RPI's resnet with regard to bandwidth and traffic bottlenecks.  After this is complete, an alternate network model will be developed, creating the optimal model.
